It comes with multiple glasses for the glass pans. There’s this frosted look and then there is a clear glass. The black is a nice matte black finish so there is no shine or gloss that comes from it. It was fairly straightforward to install with the directions, and the packaging that it came in was phenomenal to ensure that nothing broke. It adds a nice classic touch to the front of the house.. These are easily one of my most favorite outdoor light fixtures on the market. I think they're brilliant - nothing else like them. I used them in several places on a renovated Edwardian home's exterior in San Francisco and plan to use them on my own very contemporary home in Palm Springs.
