Trend Spotlight: Decorating with Brass and Gold
Nine ways our team is loving this of-the-moment trend.
After years of brushed silver, polished nickel, and antique mercury glass being the Ide rigueur finishes in interior design, brass and gold have officially fallen back into favor. We’ll credit the popularity of warmer-toned metals to “it” designers like Jonathan Adler and Kelly Wearstler (and their shared affinity for a certain gold hand-shaped chair—you know the one), but regardless of where it started, it seems brass and gold are here to stay.
First, to ease any concerns: This isn’t the stuff of dated sitting rooms from the 1980s. Done right, today’s gold-tone accents are fresh, chic, and entirely of the moment. For proof, here are just a few of the ways we’re currently loving the look.
