The rug is thin, but it almost immediately laid flat. I think it will just take a little time to completely flatten out on my back deck, but unlike other rugs, I’ve ordered it does not curl up on the edges. My deck is exposed, so I will see how it does with the rain. I bought the runner so I could easily roll it up and bring it inside if I know it’s going to just downpour. The colors are muted, and I was hoping the blue would be a little more pronounced, but it is actually quite pretty when you look up close. We love this rug. It is nice and thick and the colors/print are what we had in mind for our entryway. We did purchase the 1/4” rug pad to put underneath as it is directly at the front door as you enter. With the pad and rug in place, the door clears it. Highly recommend if you are considering it..
