Decorative only, not for homes with pets or kids or for areas that get regular use! This rug looks like it does in pictures and is really lovely. It's very thin, more like a blanket/rough canvas, so it definitely requires a liner or it slips everywhere. That said, I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing! I saw that it got a lot of stars and assumed it was a good rug, but three weeks in, I went to clean a couple of small spots and in the process of scrubbing it I ended up smearing the black print. It claims that it can be spot cleaned with water or "mild detergent" and maybe what I used (Nature's Miracle) just wasn't "mild" enough, however, I have never experienced anything like this. Rugs are generally meant to be used, and this is just not practical. Also, the seam where it was folded for shipping remains very visible after three weeks. I have wondered if it could be ironed out but I worry that might ruin it even worse! I'm so disappointed because I really love the aesthetics of it.
