I spent a lot of time researching reviews and item descriptions to figure out which wooden chaise lounge would be the best product. Ultimately, I went with this one because the wood was responsibly grown and had FSC certification. However, from the reviews of various wood chaise lounges, I also expected that some of the wood might be split, hardware might be missing, and I may have to do extra work when assembling it. I almost couldn't believe it when all the pieces in the box were there and the wood was very nice, cleanly cut and protected, and all the pre-drilled holes were in the correct spots for screws. I only had to take half inch off of a thin support (with a Japanese hand saw--simple) that was cut a little too long at the very end of assembly. Wood is a natural product and there may have been some slight expansion or contraction before it got to me. The chair is lovely, and it came with a very nice gray cushion, which I had not expected. I am very, very pleased and would recommend this chair to anyone...I will probably get one more next year.
