BEWARE - Do NOT order light wood. The "light wood" table appears to be the dark wood table. I will say that the table is nice, it was fairly easy to assemble and we love the rounded edges...but we were expecting a light color wood. The leaf is fairly easy to pull up. I do not like that there is no lock to keep the table together, in either the expended or the non extended position. But the reason for the 2 stars is the color. It is dark in most places, has some light spots, and even has that really dark orangey tone to it in many places. If you are looking for a unique table, then go for it....but if you are looking for a light wood, to match something or have that more rustic/farmhouse feel...it doesn't.

I agonized about finding separate outdoor wood pieces that would match in color. For anyone else out there scouring the customer photos, here’s some pieces that do in fact match each other! For this table, it’s super heavy and you need some muscle to pull it apart, but the leaf really is stored inside and you’d never know it. These pictures show it stowed away. And the rug (also wayfair) is 8x10 for reference.

I had sealed the table with two coatings of teak oil and it still warped.

So happy with our table. Very versatile with its leaf. And the fact that the leaf is hidden within the table is an awesome feature.

Don't buy! For spending $700+, the quality is awful. The wood had not been fine-sanded, meaning you need to sand it again yourself or get lots of splinters coming off. The stain was also not even, there was one corner where they obviously missed it. I spent a lot of effort applying wood wax just to make it presentable and usable. The table is also hard to extend and shrink because mechanically, the pieces don't line up well and you have to wrestle with it to get the pins to line up. What a pain. It's a two-person job for sure. I applied wax on all surfaces to make it smooth and the ends finally glide better, but this is just terrible manufacturing and I would never buy it again or recommend this to anyone. We badly wanted an expandable oval table and this was the only option from any place we shopped. That, and the pain of returning it, is the only reason we're keeping it.
