Chairs are not as durable as we would like- but we love that the table expands very easily!

I was really excited for this set. I purchased it in June and have had a few chances to use it this summer but it has mostly been covered. In moving the set for fall clean up I picked up a chair and the seat completely fell apart. The glue or nailing process was subpar. For this price point I would expect better quality and a chair to last more than 3 months. When I went to customer service to ask for repair or replacement options they explained nothing can be done past 30 days of purchase. For a 2k purchase I would expect more and this will be the last of my buying with Wayfair.

This review is both on the set and the delivery disaster that it took to receive it. So hang in there. Others may have gotten a set that was pre-pandemic, so beware the packing configuration has changed...The BOL states one PO, one box, insane weight. It’s actually 3 boxes (which you wouldn’t know until you only get one and it’s chairs) It took not one, not two but three tries to get the whole set. I ordered it based on price, reviews and timing. It went from being 8 days to delivery to 8 weeks later and FINALLY having all the pieces (12 star). The customer service team was SUPER helpful and stayed in constant contact. If it wasn’t for them, I would’ve cancelled the order and lived with no outdoor dining until next year (5 stars). The set itself is super heavy. You need two people for the table alone. It’s not teak, but it’s solid. The chairs vary. Some are more sturdy than others (actual weight difference). The guides for the extension are a little janky, so opening and closing require patience some jiggering. The assembly instructions are garbage and there were some misalignment with the holes which caused challenges with the bolts. You also need a mallet to set the legs. It felt like a factory rush job. There’s no labeling so leg assembly appeared to be universal…clearly it’s not. Thank goodness my husband is handy drilled out the holes to properly put this together. A couple of the chairs are wobbly and will require wood glue a clamp. (2 stars). However, when all was said done it’s super sturdy and seems like it will hold up nicely. You will need to condition it. Ours took a whole bottle of Howard’s it was so thirsty. A couple of last notes. The table sits high. I’m 5’4” and it feels a little tall (which means too high for the kids). Also as noted in other reviews, the side chairs don’t slide under the table (3 stars). We also nailed on plastic sliders on the chair feet bc the bottoms are a little rough hewn and don’t slide easily on our deck. We will most likely do what the other buyer did and add a hole for our umbrella. I know this seems like a rough review…but there is really good value for money if you don’t have the delivery debacle.

This is a great set with a few exceptions. The table was very heavy until we figured out that the top sliding pieces will slide completely off if you unscrew a set screw that's on the underside and looks like it does nothing. Another issue is one of the hinges on the butterfly leaf was damaged. My husband thinks it will be easy to fix or replace. Lastly, when the table is completely expanded the pegs on one side do not line up with the holes, so it cannot be pushed all the way closed. Again we think we can fix it easily with a drill. Other than that it is a lovely set that looks as if it will be durable and we are pleased with it. As an added bonus, the chairs stack for easy storage!

Love this table and chairs more than expected. We added the umbrella to it. And didn’t realize that this is an expandable table! Bonus.
