It works. Filled with sand and water it is heavy and holds the umbrella sturdily even in fairly high winds. It is in 4 sections so that the weight of each is reasonable--needs a fair amount of strength or 2 people. I moved it into a heated garage over winter to avoid water freezing and potentially splitting open the plastic.

Nice base just didn’t fit my candaliver umbrella. The Wayfair rep told me it would definitely fit and is adjustable. A part was missing and the two sets of directions are horrible! Wayfair routed my call to the distributor that goes by another name until I said I bought it from Wayfair then we were on the same page. Good gravy!
