I wish I could give zero stars for this experience. I ordered the Franny Elianna, but received a Monte Carlo fan instead. I contacted Joss & Main (Wayfair) customer service immediately to clarify if they were the same item under different names. I was instructed to open the package fully and take pictures of the item.
After extensive back and forth with several different agents, each asking the same questions without addressing our actual concern, I was eventually informed that a replacement would be sent. When the replacement arrived a week later, it was again the Monte Carlo fan.
The frustrating cycle of dealing with different agents continued, which felt intentional to wear me down. I eventually agreed to keep the incorrect item, but requested a refund for the price difference between the Monte Carlo ($759) and the Franny Elianna ($807), plus a discount for the inconvenience. I was told that this was not possible.
It’s infuriating to be stuck with an item I didn’t order, at a lower price than what I paid for. Returning it wasn’t an option because I had already installed it, trusting that Wayfair would resolve the issue fairly. This situation is about more than just the price difference; it’s about principle and the poor customer service I experienced.
The last agent claimed that the Monte Carlo and Franny are essentially the same item with different brand names. Had this been communicated initially, it would have saved me hours of pointless discussion. I believe this strategy is designed to frustrate customers into giving up.
I will not be shopping with Joss & Main, Wayfair, or any of their affiliated companies again and strongly advise others to avoid them as well.
