Not only are these plates art pieces, and architecturally unique, they are 9.7 inches!!! It is extremely difficult to find smaller dinner plates that are not plain. I spent hours and money searching, ordering, and returning, which was beyond frustrating, not to mention costly. I live in a 595 square foot, 1928 apartment building so my cupboard space is limited. Additionally there is no built-in dishwasher so I purchased a countertop portable, which my 11 inch plates did not fit in. I don’t know why sellers think everyone likes plain jane (my apologies to Janes everywhere) dishes. I want interesting dishes which will induce commentary at a dinner party. And, I don’t need giant discs that won’t fit in my cupboards, dishwasher or 34 inch round dining table. They are heavy, but because they are smaller in diameter they are not too heavy to handle. I bought the green, which is beautiful and they go with my reactive glazed bowls, which I purchased from another seller. They look just as they do on the site so no need for photos. I am buying another set of 4 because I like them so much.
