We were looking for a bed that would fit under our window and there were not as many frames available under that height in the style we were looking for but this one fit perfectly. With a slight modification from our original plan. This bed was exactly what we are looking for. The description says the bed is a platform bed and no box spring is needed, while you can use this bed with just a mattress, I would recommend adding a box spring. We removed the bed slats and replaced with a 9" metal box spring. This accompanied with a 10" memory foam mattress leaves this mattress at the perfect height. Note that the base in the bed is not that sturdy and you won’t be able to put anything heavy in it. You absolutely will need 2 people to put this together. The bed sits much higher than what is shown in the photo. This bed does not sit like a lower profile/platform bed. The actual quality of the bed is great but the description was misleading.. I looked and looked for a king bed frame. I found this and I am very happy with it. It was delivered quickly. It was easy to put together. I did it all by myself. It looks stylish. It is lightweight so if I need to slide the bed over to vacuum no problem. It sits low to the ground which I prefer. This keeps my cat from getting under the bed, with my other bed it would become a sleep place for my cat and quite a lot of hair would accumulate. I have been carefully to not let my cat use this bed as a scratching post. So, now the cat sleeps on the bed and loves it too. (I know some cats are impossible to teach.)
