The bench was elegant, sturdy and light/easy to move. However there was a rustic/wooden smell to it, something that can be a feature in a large country house but not something we were necessarily looking for. The instructions are easy to follow, and all tools and parts are included. The chair has a deeper and lower seat, which makes it especially comfortable to curl up in. The weather isn't great here right now so I set it up inside temporarily, and it actually looks nice enough to use indoors. The wood and fabric seem pretty durable, although I'd still be cautious with the light fabric.
