The upholstery feels soft and has a nice neutral color that should work with a variety of decorating styles. The chair is generously sized with wide arms and a deep seat, making it comfortable for relaxing, reading, or watching TV. The power controls are built into the armrest, are easy to reach, and even include a USB charging port, which is a feature I appreciate. Assembly was minimal since it arrived in just a couple of pieces that locked together quickly. The reclining mechanism operated smoothly during my testing and wasn’t overly loud. The back and footrest moved at a comfortable speed, and I liked being able to stop it at different positions instead of being limited to fully upright or fully reclined. If I had one criticism, it’s that the seat is definitely on the firmer side. It isn’t uncomfortable, but if you prefer a plush, sink-in feel, this may not be the chair for you. I’m interested to see how it softens with more use over time. Overall, this is a stylish, well-built power recliner that offers modern features without looking bulky or outdated. This chair is for my mom's 80th birthday. I searched far and wide for a recliner that did not look like a recliner but a contemporary chair to match her stylish living room. I then found the Amada chair. It has all of the appearance of a chair and non of a recliner. Our first delivery was a disappointment, not for the chair but the delivery. The chair came with a cracked front leg. We were devastated. We contacted customer service and they helped us through the process for a replacement chair. A week or so later we received the replacement chair and it was perfect!. We now fight for the chair whenever we watch TV together! I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for the delivery issue.
