The Joss & Main Aleja bed arrived well packed with no damage and looks exactly like the picture. We had box springs but it made the mattress too high against the headboard. We added a bunky board and the mattress height is exactly where it should be. We have a Beautyrest Black mattress which is 10" high and fills the frame right to the edges. I love this bed, works with our coastal decor very well. This is the 2nd time I buy one (used also in a vacation rental). Very well made and sturdy. Arrived early and was easy to install. Highly recommend. NOTE - might have implied that you do not need a box spring, but you do (especially if you have a memory foam mattress). I recommend a 4" profile box spring, or 1 piece of plywood. This bed frame looks exactly like the picture! The description says it is not compatible with an adjustable bed frame. The reviews from others say it is compatible. 4 1/2 hours to put together!!!! The color ‘white’ on the website is more of a beige and the fabric looks almost linen-y. The hydraulic works well and there’s a ton of storage. Note that the base in the bed is not that sturdy and you won’t be able to put anything heavy in it. You absolutely will need 2 people to put this together. The bed sits much higher than what is shown in the photo. This bed does not sit like a lower profile/platform bed. The actual quality of the bed is great but the description was misleading..
