Rug Pads

Beauty and comfort. Many people buy rugs to add instant beauty to a room. But rugs are not so lovely when they are bunched up on the floor. That sloppy look also keeps a rug from doing its other jobs, such as providing a comfortable cushion for bare feet or muffling sound in the home.

Cleanliness. Rug pads can prevent liquid and spills on the rug from reaching the carpet or flooring which lies beneath it. Additionally, most rug pads have ridges or are otherwise textured to trap dirt and keep it from being tracked elsewhere. These built-in bumps also allow for air to flow between the runner and flooring, which can make it easier for your vacuum to do its job.

Longevity. Walking on a rug causes it to shift and move, resulting in friction which can age both the rug and the surface it sits on. This friction is made even worse when dirt, crumbs, grime, and the like gets between the rug and the flooring. Even though quite small, these bits of dirt can be abrasive and break down the fibers in rugs and carpets. Perhaps worse yet, those abrasive bits can actually scratch hardwoods and other flooring. Using rug pads offers increased protection to both the area rugs and the flooring they cover.
