This is a great tree as noted by many other reviews. IMO, your mileage will vary based on how much effort YOU put into the tree. It comes compressed and needs to be fluffed - a lot. After reading many reviews and looking at the pictures, I surmised that everyone fluffs differently. Those who put in little effort or don't fluff wisely, get a tree that looks sparse that you can see through. Those who fluff wisely get a tree that looks real and you have a hard time seeing through. You will always have parts you can see through, but you can really minimize it. The inside branches are made of PVC and I bent those mostly straight up. That prevents seeing through the tree as much as possible. Since they are on the inside, you don't notice it. The outside branches are made of PE plastic and those are the pretty ones. I've seen the plastic branches of cheap trees at other stores and they look terrible - completely fake. These feel-real branches look great and after fluffing the tree look amazing. Now for the bad news. Since there are an astounding 2702 tips around this tree to make it look so wonderful, you will spend hours fluffing each and every one of those 2702 tips. I read that someone took 2 hours to fluff. It took me 4 hours. I put on some TV shows that I didn't need to watch to enjoy and got to it. Hints on fluffing: I put the middle section in the base first without tightening the screw. Pushing all branches up on their hinges with only the bottom row down, I fluffed a branch and then spun the tree so the next branch was in front of me. I kept going like that until the bottom row was done. Then on to the next row. You can get a chair to sit in when it's too high or you can start in a chair. Just keep spinning it and fluffing as you go. When you are done, take the middle section out of the base and put it aside. Then put the bottom section in the base and fluff and spin. When you're done with the bottom section you can put the top section on it and fluff that while it is at chest level. When the top is fluffed, take it out and put the middle section where it belongs. Then put the top section on. Stand back and you will see where it needs to continue to be fluffed and you can spin it to the place you want it. Then screw the locking screw into place. I chose this tree because it has no lights. Lights burn out, even the LEDs. In fact, I put on a couple strings of LED lights that are only 3 years old and a handful of the bulbs are burned out. IMO, getting a pre-lit tree is great in the short run but a problem in the long run. So, I put on my own LED and traditional twinkle strings.. Corey. MAIZE, KS. 2021-12-02 10:24:20
