Both chair and ottoman were protected with a type of bag so that the items do not rub or wear against the box - that’s what I am guessing. Keeping the boxes and both bags to repackage when we move. The feet of the ottoman are sturdy and plastic. We will be replacing them with wooden ones just to elevate the ottoman a little. Nice chair. The seat is fairly firm (as a new chair should be), the arms are pretty comfortable, the fabric is a nice texture. Also the color (both the upholstery [I got gray] and the wood) is pretty close to what is shown on the web site. The included pillow is also pretty firm, we'll have to see how it holds up over time. I was a bit disappointed when I first saw this chair in person. Due to the nature of the type of velvet used, it looks worn, not new. This is a $300 chair at best, not $1,000 chair as Wayfair has priced it. Granted, there was no assembly required as it was delivered by Wayfair. Still this chair incredibly basic.
