Sanford Accent Stool

Three months after delivery an average sized guest was sitting on it when the bolt connecting two legs sheared in two dropping our guest to the ground. I contacted customer service and told them I would like to return it. They told me it was past the 30 day return window and it wouldn't be fair to other customers if they allowed me to return it. The website says the stool has a one year warranty, but when I mentioned the warranty to customer service (via their online chat) they told me that they didn't know if there was a warranty and they would have to research it. I asked how long it would be until I heard back from them and was told 2-3 days. That has passed and I have heard nothing.
