I’ve reviewed a lot of furniture through Tried True, and this power recliner honestly surprised me. The design is very clean and modern with straight lines that don’t scream “recliner,” which was a huge plus for me. It looks much more like an oversized accent chair than a traditional reclining chair, so it blends in well with the rest of my living room.
The upholstery feels soft and has a nice neutral color that should work with a variety of decorating styles. The chair is generously sized with wide arms and a deep seat, making it comfortable for relaxing, reading, or watching TV. The power controls are built into the armrest, are easy to reach, and even include a USB charging port, which is a feature I appreciate.
Assembly was minimal since it arrived in just a couple of pieces that locked together quickly. The reclining mechanism operated smoothly during my testing and wasn’t overly loud. The back and footrest moved at a comfortable speed, and I liked being able to stop it at different positions instead of being limited to fully upright or fully reclined.
If I had one criticism, it’s that the seat is definitely on the firmer side. It isn’t uncomfortable, but if you prefer a plush, sink-in feel, this may not be the chair for you. I’m interested to see how it softens with more use over time.
