nice bookends, just enough weight to make them useful and secure. They have 4 white felt type pads to insure grip and not scratch any surface upon which they are used. I had noted the dimensions prior to buying but I'd actually like them to be even larger and heavier and I'd pay more. I have an old pair of hand carved horse head bookends which are very large and heavy so I'm always looking out for new bookends to buy that are equal in size and weight, these at least come closer than most..
