These marble bookends are gorgeous and heavy. One is noticeably thicker than the other, but they feel more hand-carved and authentic that way. My pair has some small nicks and imperfections, and some poorly done patching that I actually sanded off with a sanding block. They arrived rather dusty, mostly just from the styrofoam packaging. Separating books into smaller groups and placing bookends on either side is how to give character to a shelf or table. These gorgeous white marble bookends will also be great decorations for any flat space. Turn the flat portion against a wall and place it toward the ends of a fireplace mantel making them look like part of the mantel itself.
