This set is excellent. The dinnerware is off-white in color and glossy. I used the dishes to entertain during the holiday. I chose the off-white color as they easily matched other dinnerware I have. They are pretty heavy but also sturdy. They are dishwasher and microwave safe, although they did get hotter than usual in the microwave (on high for 30 seconds) so you may want to reduce the time used in microwave.
