Both chair and ottoman were protected with a type of bag so that the items do not rub or wear against the box - that’s what I am guessing. Keeping the boxes and both bags to repackage when we move. The feet of the ottoman are sturdy and plastic. We will be replacing them with wooden ones just to elevate the ottoman a little. However, we found the seat cushion's depth to be more than adequate. The style of this chair is so amazing!! It is the perfect boho-chic neutral. The swivel mechanism is top notch but you can remove it from the chair if you didn’t want that feature. Ours came with nicks and scratches on one of the front “legs” along with some minor staining on the front panel of upholstery. We are waiting to head back from Customer Service. I like this chair. I wanted to love it, but it’s very white. It’s labeled ivory so I wasn’t expecting such a bright white, and it clashes with the off white items in the room I intended to put it in.
